Wow your guests with this delicious non-alcoholic spritzer with ginger beer and earl grey-infused honey syrup. Recipe courtesy of our friend at the Bitter Housewife.
For an adult spritzer that won't disappoint, substitute the ginger beer for a 750ml bottle of sparkling wine (such as Brut Cava or Champagne).
Earl Grey-Infused Honey Syrup
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup water
1 Earl Grey tea bag or 1 tablespoon of loose leaf tea. We suggest Lord Bergamot from Smith Tea or Earl Gray tea leaves.
3/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup Earl Grey-Infused Honey Syrup
1 ounce The Bitter Housewife Orange Bitters
3 9-oz bottles of Betty Buzz Ginger Beer or sparkling wine
8 ounces soda water
Orange slices for garnish
Start by making the Earl Grey-infused honey syrup. Combine the honey and water in a small saucepan over low heat. Bring to a low simmer and stir to dissolve the honey. Remove from heat and add the tea. After five minutes of steeping, remove the tea and place syrup in the fridge to chill.
Combine orange juice, chilled Earl Grey-infused syrup, bitters, and soda water in a pitcher and mix gently.
Slowly pour in the ginger beer or sparkling wine. To avoid over-foaming, pour down the side of the glass.
To serve, pour into a wine glass with a few ice cubes and garnish with an orange slice. You’ll want to make this one right before guests arrive so the bubbles stay bright.
