From vibrant holiday poinsettias to hearty seasonal mums, Fessler Nursery brings endless local color and unwavering quality to New Seasons' floral department.
Family-owned and operated by Ken and Marie Fessler in Woodburn, Oregon, this longtime local grower has been part of the New Seasons family since 2019, supplying our stores with some of the most sought-after plants we offer.
The Fessler family's farming legacy dates back to 1960, when Ken first began growing in the heart of Oregon farmland. Over the years, the nursery has evolved—expanding greenhouses, planting new crops, and bringing the next generation into the fold—but one thing has always remained: the Fesslers' commitment to growing beautiful plants and nurturing strong relationships with their growers and folks like us.
More than six decades later, Ken can still be spotted in the greenhouses—hands in the soil, surrounded by the vibrant blooms he and his team have cultivated with the care and dedication that have made them a favorite amongst our floral team and customers.
Of course, if you know us, then you know we love hearing directly from our local growers. So, we caught up with Fessler Nursery's head grower, Ty Boland, and general manager, Kyle Peterson, to learn more about their work, their mission, and what it's like partnering with New Seasons.
NSM: What about your work gives you the greatest sense of pride?
Ty Boland: I'm incredibly proud of our product. We produce and supply a dizzying array of high-quality plant material that, at its final destination, enriches people's lives and beautifies their surroundings.
NSM: What is Fessler's mission as a company?
Kyle Peterson: Our mission is simple: to help our plants, partners, and people thrive. Every day, we're motivated by growth—watching our plants flourish, our customers' businesses expand, and our team members achieve their personal and professional goals.
NSM: What's it like working with New Seasons?
Kyle Peterson: We've been working with New Seasons Market since 2019 and have had a very positive experience. Justine (New Seasons Floral Store Support Program and Category Manager) has been fantastic over the years and makes it easy to work with New Seasons. We've had the same experience with store personnel as well—when our drivers arrive with a delivery, they're greeted with smiles and positive attitudes. Any challenges are met with a solution-based, forward-thinking mentality.
