Arbor Lodge has developed and maintained three different work opportunity programs with De La Salle High School, Pacific Opportunities, and Portland YouthBuilders. These partnerships give community members the opportunity to demonstrate skills as well as collaborate with staff on customer service and job training.
Bag It Forward partners: Portland Fruit Tree Project, Ecology in Classrooms & Outdoors and Friends of Outdoor School.
Founded in 1979, Sisters of the Road supports community driven solutions to find innovative solutions to the issues surrounding homelessness and poverty. Through the generous customer donations at our Arbor Lodge store, we have been able to be part of the solution, providing funds to support everything from job training and support for parents and children to Sister’s Café, an open-to-everyone café serving low-cost, hot and nutritious meals.
Whether it’s recognizing the hard work of staff, meeting the needs of our customers or supporting the efforts of nonprofits in the community, Allison really enjoys being able to live our mission of “cultivating good for generations.” With New Seasons since 2013, Allison loves that Arbor Lodge knows how to throw a good party—like celebrating one of their regular’s 92nd birthday. In other news, Allison’s go-to secret ingredient is fish sauce. Sorry for blowing the secret Allison…but we couldn’t resist.
