New Seasons Market

Back in the day, there was a little valley in Clackamas County that was referred to as the hallow where boys were often heard singing merrily after drinking local apple cider on their way to Sunday church services. They soon became known as the "happy boys from the hallow," and the hallow itself became known as "Happy Valley."

That little hallow was recently named "Oregon's fastest growing city," and Happy Valley now has its very own New Seasons Market, featuring a cooking school, free Wellness classes, an in-store gelato counter, handmade sushi, a fresh noodle bar, an organic bakery and a piping hot pizza oven.

Located southeast of Portland, Happy Valley didn't become an actual city until 1965. The area remained fairly small until a sudden 61 percent population boom from 2000 to 2005. Young families looking for a friendly community in which to settle down and raise their children account for the majority of the new growth.

Rumor has it that growing families like healthy community grocery stores, and that's what we're here for. As our ninth location in the Portland area, Happy Valley is the largest of all of our stores, boasting an expansive 50,000 square feet of space. Like our other stores, Happy Valley features local and organic produce, natural meats and chicken, sustainable seafood, artisan cheeses, an extensive wine and beer selection overseen by two staff wine and beer stewards and our own 100 percent organic, freshly baked breads from our in-store certified organic bakery.
