2010 BEST Award

New Seasons Market is proud to be the recipient of the 2010 BEST Award in Sustainable Food Systems from The City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability. Awards are given annually to businesses demonstrating an extraordinary commitment to supporting social, environmental and economic sustainability in the local agriculture and food industry. 2009 Innovation in Philanthropy

In October 2009, we were pleased to receive an "Innovation in Philanthropy Award" from the Portland Business Journal. The awards were given to recognize the philanthropic efforts of Oregon's business community.    








2009 Wheelie Award

We were honored to hear we had been nominated (and won!) a Wheelie Award, The Bus Project's awards presented to “the bravest of politicians, civic-minded do-gooders and selfless volunteers” in Oregon. Specifically, we won the "High-Road BUS-iness Award: For a business that's driven just as much by the desire to help people as by the need to make profit."  
 




2009 Recycler of the Year

In June 2009, New Seasons Market was honored with the 2009 Recycler of the Year award for a business that demonstrates leadership in sustainability. The Association of Oregon Recyclers (AOR), one of the first state recycling associations that began in 1977, honored a handful of Oregon businesses, non-profits, and individuals with awards at its annual conference. We were pleased to be among them. The awards are bestowed annually to recognize innovation and commitment in the field of recycling.




2008 SOLV Citizenship Award

In 2008, New Seasons Market was honored to receive a SOLV Citizenship Award. SOLV was founded in 1969 by then Oregon Governor Tom McCall with the help of business and community members. Their mission is to organize and empower Oregonians to improve our communities and our environment . New Seasons Market  was recognized for giving preference to local growers, fishers, farmers and ranchers, and for donating 10% of after-tax profits to community nonprofit organizations that feed the hungry, educate our youth and improve the environment. 



2008 Best Awards

In 2008, NSM received an award for Best Practices for Sustainability from the City of Portland Office of Sustainable Development. Since 1993, the BEST Awards have been presented annually to Por tland area companies demonst rating excellence in business pract ices that promote economic growth and environmental benefits. We were recognized for our commitment to communi ty involvement, promoting sustainable agriculture, and creating a progressive workplace. 



2008 Governor’s Sustainability Award


In 2008, NSM received the Governor’s Sustainability Award, part of a program intended to promote and advance the inclusion of sustainable practices in government and the private sector. NSM was selected for being an innovator in our field, and for demonstrating that sustainable practices are aligned with, not in competition with, our company’s core values and mission.

In 2008, we were also named one of the “Top 10 Most Admired Oregon Companies” by the Portland Business Journal.
